We stayed there for a short time, and then had to move on.....

to the trailer from HELL......where all hell broke loose.

And we just couldn't take it anymore, so we slipped back into the city....

just in time for hurricane Rita to finish what Katrina started. We lived without electric, without water and sewer, no a/c in 120 degrees under Marshall law for almost one month. Where the FBI with rifles and flak jackets delivered us cat food, and the bugs ate us alive. The smell was unbearable, but we did what we had to do to get in, get out and get on with our lives..

 

Stick a fork in me, I'm done.....so we moved to the "kuntry" in the middle of nowhere, Leesville, LA....25 miles from the nearest store.

 

It was nice for a while...very "Zen" and idyllic...

 

The cats were content, finally.

 

The flowers were blooming,,,,

Dan was making beautiful music....

 

But, the Kuntry can be a scary place.

Full of vomiting wild turkeys and one toothed pentacostals...with guns and no brains who hunt for "sport" and leave their headless carcasses on our front lawn. That does NOT smell good on a hot day in the deep south.

Okay, a lot more happened in the "Kuntry". Let's just say it was a necassary move for all the wrong reasons, for the right reason to come forth....We had to auction the place off, took a HUGE financial loss, but gained a peace of mind we hadn't had....since we were carefree children wandering free amongst the tombs....

THIS is what happened to our old houses....

 

Anyone for a one bedroom condo????

 

There's only several THOUSAND of them on the market in New Orleans right now. So many so, that the person who bought our old house had no choice but to RENT out the units...after dumping $450,000 into renovations. I'm sure she'll write it all of on her taxes. Did a decent renov. of the property though.

Whaaaaa?????? $230,000 for 500n square feet??? You gotta be kiddin' me!

 

We had a good run, though. After all, Azrael is all about change. We are living proof of that.....and if we can do it, so can YOU!

Gotta learn to be more like cats....
