After looking at 45 houses in New Orleans in August of 1989...

I settled on this abandoned property because it had "potential"

And a lot of character and history, and wonderful windows and doors.....

and broken windows and broken plumbing, and 13 foot ceilings and....

white paneling to hide the cracked walls....

and a piss yellow hallway with a GREAT staircase and 3 uselees refridgerators.

Armed with only a broken curtain rod, I busted out the suspended ceiling and out came this incredible light that burned the film in my camera....

and revealed WHY they put the suspended ceilings up in the first place. UGH!

But where else in the world does THIS roll passed your house?

Where else in the world would you find a cheap sleep like this?

Or an open door to a ready made Temple Space?

Or such wonderfully rusted wrought iron?

Ah, the city that care forgot.....

New Orleans, where else?

From Potters's Field....

to the "Family Tomb"......

This is where we needed to be...

in the City below the Sea.

So, out came the Black & Purple , and in no less than 4 months...

That piss yellow hallway became THIS...

and those whote paneled walls became a beginning....

and the cob webs grew, and the darkness loomed...

but this was really what it looked like...

when not lit by ghost light.
