Okay,
I wasn't going to get involved (again) in all of this. I do have much
better things to do than deal with a certain person's insecurities
and petty jealousies. But.. I am
involved in this nonetheless.
Daniel, in his letter above, is always trying to "protect" my
honour from any who would falsely attack me. And, as we all know, Daniel
loves controversy, while I much prefer a more sedentary, amiable co-existence.
Daniel's even chided me on several occasions about being "too
nice" to those to those who simply turn around and stab you in the
back.
So, for all of you who wanted more details on our "interactions"
with this person, here is a very brief overview.
When we first put our official site up, on October 16th, 1999, this person
contacted me shortly thereafter. We bantered back and forth via email
and she eventually told me about an interaction she's recently had
with a spirit that "ruined her life". She thought that spirit
might be Azrael, but wasn't sure. Back and forth our conversation
went until I soon discovered that this person had a few loose screws and
knew everything about everything from html, to trigonometry, the Enochian
language, Kaballa and just about everything in-between. This know it all
person also took it upon herself to hijack one of our web pages, redesign
it and place it on her site replete with her copyright emblem. We called
her on it, and she blew a cork!
We broke off communication. That was last Oct-Nov. We hadn't heard
from her again until, while I was searching for new sites relevant to
Azrael, I found an interesting sounding link via a Guestbook on another
site. We proceeded to contact the site in question hoping to affiliate,
interact, link exchange, whatever. Immediately
after our initial contact to this site, who turns up already latched onto
yet another "Azrael" site? You guessed it! We got a very nasty
email in return, to the tone of how dare you contact this site! Ignoring
this, I noticed this was a fairly new site and perhaps thought we could
contribute an article or two to a section marked "History" which
had nothing in it. So, out of the spirit of sharing info, I sent the site
owner "Select
Cross Cultural & Historical Personifications of Death",
a rather lengthy article from my book "Encounters With Death".
Again, this
person responded with a very vehement attack against my character, claiming
that I "plagiarized" the article, that I didn't write it,
etc., etc.
Now, I may be a wuss, but I do
not take kindly to anyone who falsely attacks my credibility.
Those of you who know me, know that I pride myself on my honesty and integrity.
Of course, a big email fight ensued, and I threatened to take legal action.
I was called many ugly things, including a "pimp" because we
have a business dedicated to Azrael. Well, folks... let's see. If
we didn't have anything to say, there wouldn't be any books.
If we didn't have any books to sell, there would be no Westgate.
None of you would be viewing and enjoying this site, none of you would
have resonated to the material presented because it wouldn't be there.
As all of you know, every penny we make here goes right back into continuing
this all, not for me,
but in service to Azrael and for all of you. So, if being able to eek
out a meager living doing what you love is being a "pimp", so
be it.
Anyway, (and it is here where I really wussed out) due to a third party's
intervention, we agreed to try it one more time. I received a formal apology
from her and we resumed a more or less friendly discourse. We welcomed
her to our Message Board and so forth. During all of this, she kept trying
to impress me about how many mega-bucks her main website was worth, but
if you go there, you will note that 99% of the businesses listed there
have never signed up to her program, hence the site is worth diddly over
squat!
I let her ego-B.S. fly and tried to remain amiable even though we both
had some major differences of opinion... and that is where it all went
to proverbial hell for a third
time. It seems that only this person's opinion is valid and all others
are deluded, and if you call her on that, oh boy, are you in for an attack!
To make a long, boring story short, we deleted one of her posts from our
Message Board because she couldn't play nice with others. Instead of disagreeing,
she became disagreeable and we will not
tolerate personal attacks on our board.
Since then, while Daniel was searching Google.com for Azrael related pages,
he came across the page above, which was probably written during one of
our "disagreements", but obviously never taken down in any act
of good faith. Since then, she has begun another site "dedicated"
to Azrael, where she, once again, spends more time attacking us and other
Azrael related sites via semantics (she seems to have a real problem with
any word prefixed by "necro"... odd, huh?) except one, the one
she's affiliated with, who, by the way charges for membership. Are
they pimping too, I ask? I have absolutely no
problems with the owner of this site. Obviously even he understands that
nothing gets done in this world without the support of others.
In any event, she seems to be rolling in money, owing to several conversations
we've had (on a paper route???) but yet, I, in my infinite wisdom,
sent her two of my books gratis, in the spirit of friendship and sharing
of information. Okay, you can smack me now.
The rest of us? Well, we're not rolling in dough. We do what we do
out of love, and if we really wanted to be rolling in money, we'd
be doing just about anything
else but this! Y'all know how we live down here, hand to mouth, day
to day. Oh, yes... she also doesn't like the fact that we throw a
party for y'all once a year. Don't know what that's all
about??

Personally, I shouldn't even have to "defend myself" against
this petty person, but now that I've been dragged into this all,
it's no longer a "game", dear, but a mission. This is all
I have to say for now... except, perhaps, that over the past 20 some odd
years I have met scores of people who have had genuine resonance to Azrael,
and in my personal opinion,
she is not one of them. You people would never stoop to such a level,
having better things to do with your lives than to harass and denigrate
those who actively have
dedicated their entire lives, hearts and souls to Azrael.
